My journey into sleep consulting began with my own challenges as a mom. At the time, I had three little ones and had just welcomed baby number four. What had worked with my other kids simply didn’t work this time—and I was at a complete loss. My daughter wouldn’t sleep in long stretches unless she was in a car seat or in my arms, and I was utterly exhausted. I loved her deeply and cherished the snuggles, but I also had three other children who needed me, too. Our days felt unpredictable and exhausting because her sleep schedule was all over the place—or nonexistent. I needed solutions. I needed help. But I didn’t even know where to begin. Then, a friend told me about her amazing experience with a sleep consultant (which I hadn’t even known was a thing!). I decided to give it a try and hired her for two weeks—just to see if she could help. Not only did she help solve my daughter’s sleep struggles, but she changed our lives. By 3 months old, my daughter was sleeping through the night and taking consistent, restorative naps—while still being breastfed and getting all the connection she needed. For the first time in eight years, I was a mama who was rested. I had the energy to show up for my family, not just survive the day. I was so amazed, I began telling anyone who would listen about the power of sleep consulting. Fast forward a bit—after lots of research, becoming IPSP® certified, and helping friends and family—I knew this was my calling. Everyone deserves the gift of good sleep. Exhaustion shouldn’t be a rite of passage or a badge parents feel forced to wear. Real rest is possible for every family—and I’ve made it my mission to normalize well-rested parents and children.
